A skin enthusiast and founder of Martha Skincare.

It has long been my dream to conjure up and create my own formulas that is to set up a new, Hungarian skincare brand based on conscious decisions. Using the knowledge I gained through treating my sensitive, long-term problematic skin that is also prone to developing recurring breakouts a range of products were created. This fluctuating skin condition led me to absorb every information possible about skincare and strive for doing everything I could at home for a more pleasant, healthier-looking skin.

The learning process, the building of routine and the navigation among the diversity of active ingredients were aided by the ever-increasing number of reliable sources available on the Internet. Through this comprehensive research I also learned that not all skin conditions can be enhanced by applying cure-alls as acne – just like in my case - can be caused by numerous other, internally existing factors. Identifying and tackling such problems are worth paying more attention to rather than settling with cosmetics that are convenient on a long run.

Finally, my own, everyday experiences and practical ideas helped form the basis of those recipes that professionals translated into the language of cosmetic chemistry and created formulas for a better treatment of skin concerns.

Why choose Martha Skincare?

The production was preceded by a long product development phase for a better and more effective range. Throughout this period a large number of samples were handled with the intention to bring forth the most convenient formulas possible. The direction of complexity was clear from the very beginning – to simplify and shorten the everyday skincare routine.

Comprising various, highly-concentrated, synergistically interacting active ingredients our products were designed to replace cosmetics with simpler composition and fewer (1 or 2) main active ingredient. Giving the skin a pleasant feel and also having the quality of quick absorption and easy layering the formulas are made up of ingredients that are proven to be effective and useful for skin. Our products were made fragrance-free and without the use of any butter, oil or potentially irritating alcohols.

Transparency is one of the determining pillars of the brand. It is essential for any customer to get adequate information about active ingredients as well as their accurate quantity enclosed in our formulas. The awareness of the effects of certain active ingredients can make you decide whether a given product suits your skin and tackles actual skin concerns. As a facilitation, main ingredients, their concentration and a short description of properties are conspicuously included on the packaging.

The brand is also devoted to calling attention to the unhealthy, distorting nature of social media on mental health. This is the reason why the models’ faces were not retouched on the photos. Our goal was to depict what a real, widely-renown, imperfect skin looks like instead of showing what effects our products can have on an impeccable, severely retouched surface. As a skincare brand I regard the attempt to sell problem-solving products advertised on immaculate skin as unreal. Despite a well-thought out routine and a mindful approach adopted as a daily practice one might still unable to achieve perfect skin and it is fine. It must be emphasized that home skincare is only a fragment of what we can do to solve skin problems. Regarding the lifestyle we lead there is also a need for consciousness since several skin conditions stem from internal causes and cannot be fully resolved with the use of cosmetics.

Both product development and production were carried out in Hungary under controlled conditions assisted by qualified chemical engineers for the compliance with all regulations. Prior to launching the products all necessary tests were performed.
